In our magazine, we showcase exciting architecture from around the world and share the stories behind our publications. We also present our latest titles.
In this issue, we explore three climate zones.
We examine Honolulu architecture from the 1950s to the 1970s, which proves once again that nowhere else does modernism blend in so harmoniously with its surroundings as it does in the tropics. Next, we move into frostier climes: Northern Europe continues to set the international pace in terms of architecture. We showcase buildings from recent years that skilfully combine sustainability, local traditions, community spirit and aesthetics. Finally, we head to Central Asia. Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, is something of a hidden gem; the architecture there blends Soviet monumentalism with Central Asian ornamentation to create a unique style.
